The Ending My Readers Deserve
The Omega: The Final Chapter of Chronicles of the Ordained
There are stories we plan.
And then there are stories that somehow take on a life of their own.
Chronicles of the Ordained has always been the second kind.
Years ago, this saga began as a very different series called The Three Realms. Back then, the heart of the story was Kela and Cono—their bond, their struggles, and the destiny pulling them toward a future neither of them fully understood. I believed I was writing one epic tale.
I had no idea the world of Jornada still had so many secrets left to reveal.
As many of my readers know, I’m what writers call a “pantser.” I don’t work from a rigid outline. I don’t know every turn before I get there. Instead, I follow the characters. I let the story breathe, grow, and sometimes surprise me along the way.
And then something happened that changed how I approached this series forever.
Around the release of the third book, the final episode of Game of Thrones aired.
Like many fantasy readers, I had invested years into those characters and that world. And like many viewers, I walked away feeling disappointed—not because every ending must be happy, but because it didn’t feel true to the journey of the characters we had followed for so long.
That moment stayed with me.
It made me stop and ask myself an important question:
What kind of ending did I want for my readers?
I realized then that I couldn’t rush to the conclusion. I couldn’t simply “finish” the story. I owed these characters—and the readers who had traveled beside them—something deeper. Something earned.
So instead of moving forward, I went backward.
I returned to the beginning and wrote:
- The Oath
- The Curse
- The Blessing
Those books reshaped everything.
Suddenly, the world became larger. The history deeper. The choices more meaningful. The sacrifices heavier. What had once been a story centered mainly on Kela and Cono became a sweeping generational saga about destiny, power, loyalty, love, betrayal, and the cost of holding back darkness.
Only then did I return to Kela and Cono’s journey in:
- The Promised
- The Path
- The Vision
And now…
It all comes to an end in The Omega.
The final battle approaches. Ancient prophecies collide. Long-buried truths come to light. The choices made generations ago will finally demand their price.
But beyond the wars, magic, and destiny, The Omega remains what this series has always been at its core:
A story about people.
About flawed heroes trying to do what is right.
About love enduring through impossible odds.
About sacrifice.
About hope.
And about whether light can survive when the world stands at the edge of darkness.
Will The Omega live up to expectations?
There’s only one way to find out.
